Mayfield-Glenn Group, Inc. was incorporated in June of 1997, doing business as Master Roll Manufacturers. Production was started in January of 1998.
Our management staff consists of Rodney E. Mayfield, President; James D. Glenn, Secretary/Treasurer; Jeff Chance, Plant Supervisor; and Leroy Inman, Lead Man who cumulatively have eighty-eight years experience in the machine shop environment giving them a very good working knowledge of our customer requirements and specifications. Beth Czerniak is our Office and Accounting Manager. Jeremy Crowe is our C.F.O.
Rodney works closely with our outside sales reps as well as call on accounts that have special needs. He meets with prospective customers to sell our services. His knowledge of machining also enables him to work closely with company engineers to make sure we can manufacture their products with accuracy and, in a timely fashion.
Jim (James) does all of our quoting. His extensive background in supervision and machine operations gives him the necessary tools to quote prices and deliveries accurately and is also an owner.
Jeff, with Leroy as his leadman, is our plant superintendent. Jeff also has extensive supervisory and machinery experience. While Jim orders the necessary materials for the jobs, Jeff does all the purchasing for the shop supplies.He also does our maintenance and works closely with Jim to do our job scheduling.
Beth is our office manager. She handles all of our daily accounting functions as well as our administrative duties. She has twenty years accounting experience in accounting for steel related industries.
Jeremy Crowe is our C.F.O. Jeremy has a background in finance and is a graduate of Ball State University.
Our machinists, in the shop, have a cumulative experience of 105 years on machines. This enables our shop to do a variety of different machining operations. Thus enabling us to do a variety of different jobs.
Our primary market is the steel industry service centers that process coils of materials including aluminum, copper, brass, stainless, and carbon steels. We also work with manufacturers of equipment for the paper industry. We manufacture new parts as well as recondition and rebuild parts for the same industries.
We recondition bearings for precision leveling equipment. Regrinding, inspection, and reassembly follow the disassembly and inspection of the cups, cones, and bearing shells. This process allows our customers to extend the life of their machinery components as much as three to four times, depending on the amount of wear on the rolls and bearings.
In manufacturing rolls some of the processes cause the rolls to warp out of shape, we then need to correct the shape in a straightening process. As a result of machining, grinding, or outside services of heat treating, warping can occur and straightening is required to continue the manufacturing process.
As in many job shops there are processess and operations to parts and components that are required and taken for granted. Such as: milling, drilling, inspection after each operation, touch-up polishing, deburring and, of course, a final inspection with inspection reports generated for each part.
We have a general line of equipment that includes turning capacity of 18" outside diameter (OD) x 13' 6" over all length (OAL). We have six (6) lathes in our shop. Our cylindrical grinding equipment will handle parts as large as 12" OD x 14 ft. OAL. We currently have four (4) cyclindrical grinders and two centerless grinders. In June of 2005 we have added a Milltronics CNC Lathe and Knee Mill.
Our welding equipment is to support our machining capacity in the manufacture of hollow rolls made of steel tubing. We have two stick welders, two mig welders and oxygen/acetylene equipment.
